Until then Win 7 just used a generic driver that gave only x resolution or something completley unusable like that. I can not find a driver for my Intel G chipset for Windows 7.

865f showed me a standard VGA graphics card. But I do know after applying the driver and restarting I think I had to restart, not sure now that it did work. But, I pushed through the error message and let it install anyway. I am running Windows 7 on a Dell Dimension with the Intel video chip set. Thanks to all for your support. Does anybody have any other suggestions?
Now everything works fine on my display. What happens is that the Intel G chipset has not been validated to work with Windows 7. I am having the same problem as CindyO.
So what can I say: I hope more people find this link quicker than I did Go to original post. I looked everywhere for a solution to the Intel G running on Windows I only downloaded the driver from this link: It is fv for general information only and should not be relied upon as complete or accurate.

However, I did find the Dell Driver listed in CindyO’s 2nd post R and tried running it in compatability mode and it worked fine 685g me. Until then Win 7 just used a generic driver that gave only x resolution or something completley unusable like that. I wish I knew exactly what it was, but at first it said the fix wasn’t supported, or there was an error or something.
